I was drawn to birth at a young age, the first born in a family of 5 children, I watched my mother go through a variety of pregnancy and postpartum experiences (including miscarriages and premature twins). After completing training in Early Childhood Development and Education, I worked as a preschool teacher for a few years before turning to private nanny work. Over the years I worked for many families from a variety of cultures and with different lifestyles. Many of my clients gave birth to additional children while in my care, and these were my first experiences as a postpartum doula. After the incredibly transformative experience of birthing my first child, I decided to become a Doula, a Birth Educator and to start the path towards Midwifery. I have since had two more incredible birth experiences, including my last birth which occurred outside under a summer sky. I deeply believe in the undisturbed birth model and our evolutionary capacity to give birth in a peaceful way.
I have trained with:
Jesse Remer, founder of Mothertree Doula Services
Wendy Sharp, founder of Portland Doula Love
Samantha Zipporah, holistic fertility expert
Whapio Diane Bartlett, Midwife and founder of The Matrona
Molly Dutton-Kenny, Midwife and holistic abortion educator
Currently, I am unschooling my three children, teaching holistic birth education and working with my community to provide support services for every stage of life.
